Floodplains are dynamic ever changing systems that rarely look the same on revisits. This is one such area up near the Adelaide River mouth. The detail was amazing and just made me stop. Well not literally – I was flying! There was an intricate display below that just had to be photographed. The strange snake-like arm out the top of the system caught my eye, but it was the detail in the small fingerling’s bringing the water to a central creek and into a larger creek in the bottom right of the image that I was most enamoured with. After a few flyovers I settled on this image portraying the process of water gathering from the surrounding areas and moving it to the main creek.
