A major concern with the territory landscape is the constant burning that occurs during the dry season, which is basically turning the landscape into a desert.  The under story of the forests and the reptile population has been decimated.  Fire is the cause. So when I come across areas that haven’t been burnt I get very excited.  We were flying over an area near the mouth of the Adelaide River east of Darwin when I saw this dense untouched canopy.  Whilst it wasn’t a hard shot to get right, it perfectly showed what areas of the NT could look like if we put our matches away.
